Tobii Helps Make UX Research More User Friendly

Tobii Helps Make UX Research More User FriendlyEye tracking for UX research got a little bit more user friendly yesterday with the announcement of the Tobii Technologies plug-in for popular UX software, Morae.

The plug-in will allow Morae users to add data from a Tobii eye tracking system directly into the Morae Recorder software, which already can record a wide variety of user experience metrics ranging from screen capture and mouse path data to user task and error monitoring. Researchers can then replay each recorded session and view a gaze-trail overlay of each user’s eye tracking data.

The ability for researchers to load of all this data into one program, as opposed to using both Morae and Tobii Studio, will help to speed up the research process and can even help to cut down on the length of the data analysis process, since researchers won’t have to analyze sessions separately.

The plug-in is available for any Tobii T/X series eye tracker, though it does not currently appear to be compatible with the Tobii Glasses. Oh and the best part of this news? The plug-in is available free of charge and can be downloaded here.

For those of you who are already using Morae for your UX research, let us know how this plug-in will affect your work in the comments section below!
