Honoring innovation

As this is a relatively new blog, on occasion it is valuable to add significant news that might have been posted had the blog existed at the time. And coming up on the year’s end, this seems like a particularly good time to look back to March 2008, when Dr. William Torch, chairman of Eye-Com, was named Entrepreneur of the Year for a medium-sized business by the Reno Gazette-Journal.

This was quite an honor for Eye-Com as several new milestones with a focus on eye-tracking and head-tracking were reached for the company in 2008.

The business itself was up against some tough competition, and other winners included Carol Betz and Nicola Pieters of Mommy’s Little Helpers LLC (Best Small Business category), Thomas Conners and his Tetrus Building Materials (Best Large Business), and Best New Entrepreneur Fernando Leal, managing partner for L3 Development LLC.
